As some of you may know, we are so lucky to have a school dog at our Balderton site. Gail comes into school every Friday and spends time working and playing with lots of children across all year groups for the day.
The idea of bringing pets into school has long been known to offer significant potential to help young people, bringing benefits to their emotional, social and academic development. You may also have heard that currently there is a great deal of discussion surrounding the importance of promoting and encouraging the development of good mental health and the well being of children. The evidence to support the use of animals in educational settings for this purpose is both extensive and growing.
Gail has been working with us in school for over a year, and we have seen at first-hand how true this really is.
Keep an eye on this page to see updates of our time in school with Gail!
