On Tuesday 17th September 2013, Daniel Sterling represented Chuter Ede in the Eurotalk language competition final for the East Midlands. Daniel was up against pupils from schools all across the East Midlands region.
Having blitzed the first round (Spanish) with a maximum possible score, Daniel was selected to move forward to the final! Daniel was asked to learn greek (a very difficult language).
Daniel worked hard to learn the greek language and prepared himself for the big competition. He stormed to a triumphant fourth in the semi-final before finally placing 10th overall. This is a huge achievement when you consider how many children there are in the whole of the East Midlands.
Mrs Sterling (Daniel's Mum) said "It was a lovely day. Great experience for him."
We are really proud of Daniel and his efforts!
We hope to run the competition again next year. If you would like to read more about it visit http://www.eurotalk.com/jlc
