As part of our project with the Barcode Warehouse, Year 5 children were invited to apply for a fictional job.
We were lucky enough to have a visit to Barcode Warehouse on Wednesday 7th June where some of the children had their 'interview'.
All 10 children were presented with a goody bag and the successful ones were able to work on the Barcode Warehouse stand at the Together for Newark Careers event on Friday 9th June!
As part of a Together for Newark schools initiative, local businesses have been paired with schools in the Newark area. The aim is to introduce children to the world of work, what jobs are available in the local area, key skills for work and to raise aspirations amongst our young people.
Chuter Ede have been lucky enough to be paired with The Barcode Warehouse in Newark. This company started from humble beginnings to a leader in its field.
As part of the project The Barcode Warehouse visited school in February and spoke to all Year 5 children about what they do, job opportunities and what to think about when applying for jobs.
After the talk, the children are carrying out some work writing a CV and replying to a job advert, with mock interviews taking place.
