CARETAKER

The Governing Body of Chuter Ede are seeking to appoint a Caretaker. We are a large primary school operating over 2 school sites. This role would be based at our Balderton site supporting the school Site Manager who works across sites and holds responsibility for both sites.

This post comes with the option of onsite living accommodation in the form of a three bedroom bungalow.

The successful candidate will:

•  Take pride in their work, adopt a positive attitude and have excellent communication skills.
•  Be responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, have a key holder responsibility and they will need to attend to intruder alarms when applicable, outside the working week.
•  Ensure that the site is safe for all staff, pupils and visitors through regular site inspections.
•  Work alongside a team of cleaners in ensuring that an appropriate standard of cleaning is provided whilst undertaking cleaning duties of communal areas.
•  Be proficient in DIY and undertake some gardening duties.
•  Have excellent organisational skills with an ability to prioritise the work load.
•  Have administrative skills, be proficient in English and Maths and be able to  use ICT confidently.
•  Complete regular testing and recording including Legionella, Fire Safety, Asbestos management and other aspects of Health and Safety.
•  Manage contractors on site.
