"Valuing everyone and aiming for our best"

Maths

This week we would like you to explore and learn about telling the time.

We will be practising reading the time to o’clock, half past, quarter to and quarter past. Some of you may also be ready to move onto reading the time to the nearest 5 minutes.

Remember, you can practise telling the time anywhere.

  • Think about how long it takes you to do an activity. Look at the clock when you start and when you finish and work out how much time has gone past.
  • How many star jumps can you do in minute? Use this to estimate how many you could do in 10 minutes!
  • Think about what time you do certain activities during the day. What time do you have lunch, go to bed, watch the television?
  • You can practise reading the time on analogue and digital clocks.

Have a go at some of the activities below.

There is also some problem solving activities for you to have a go at.

In the video below it shows you how to make this handy clock!

AND OF COURSE THERE IS ALWAYS MATHS GYM TO KEEP YOU BUSY!!

This week we have put two levels of Maths Gym - so choose which ever you feel is most appropriate for you!
